The University of Glasgow improves its position within world top 100 in Times Higher Education World University Rankings The University of Glasgow improves its position within world top 100 in Times Higher Education World University Rankings ========================================================================================================================== CIVIS Highlights 24 de octubre de 2025 The University of Glasgow has risen to 84th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. The institution has improved its position by three places globally, while maintaining its position of 10th in the UK. ![](/storage/files/media-1217711-smxx.png)illustration © UofG The improvement is a significant achievement as the number of institutions included in the THE World University Rankings grows year-on-year, with 99 new global institutions for 2026. The University of Glasgow now ranks 84th from the 2,191 ranked universities around the world. The University performed strongly in the *‘Research Quality’* and *‘International Outlook’* pillars, where it placed 26th and 33rd in the world respectively. > *Our strong performance, particularly in Research Quality and International Outlook, is a testament to our commitment to being the best University for the world, and reinforces our ambition to produce research that is not only inspiring but truly world-changing",* said Professor Rachel Sandison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement). Professor Andy Schofield, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, called the position improvement *"a tremendous achievement”*: > *It reflects the exceptional talent and commitment of colleagues across the University, whose efforts continue to drive our success on the world stage. As a new member of the University community, I am proud to see this outcome and inspired by the dedication of our colleagues and students.
